Grasso's Italian Restaurant has been in operation since 1955. For over 50 years only 2 families have owned Grasso's.. Two sisters, Jacinta Grasso and Blanche Fornasero, built what is now ?the family room? on the back of the Grasso home in 1955 in order to serve the finest Italian food in the Imperial Valley. Over the course of time, the entire house was converted to include ?the dining room? and a storage area. The Baran family bought the restaurant in 1976 and have continued to own and operate the restaurant since then?using the same authentic recipes and adding some of their own?.and, yes, we are still in the same house at 1902 West Main Street in El Centro?the house is just a different color! This place has been around for awhile, and many years ago, I went with friends, but I got sick from the food. I didn't go back for several years. I was convinced to try it again, but the same thing happened. There is something in the food that does not agree with me. I also don't like a restaurant where it is so dark, you can't even read the menu, I don't think that's romantic.

Grassos has been around forever. It is a family tradition that we love to go to. The food is the best, especially the italian salad dressing. Lots to choose from on the menu, but I tend to have my favorites over and over.
